Re: Les Paul Dead At 94
Sun, February 28, 2010 - 2:31 PMLes Paul was one of those geniuses who happened upon the scene at the perfect time. Using hi-fi phonograph and microphone basics, he made a great contribution to audio recording, not only the electric guitar. I recently heard a side note I had never known, nor researched beyond the statement; one of the musicians Les "took under his wing" was... Steve Miller. ?? Like Chet Atkins, he was one of those guys that might come off "square" but was totally "down"! lol Seriously, the guy was deep.. like an Edison of audio recording. -

Thu, March 18, 2010 - 9:01 AMAnd.... the grandfather of real-time loopers, since he developed sound-on-sound recording. The guy was later known for performing live with a huge rig of foot-switch-controlled... TAPE DECKS! Ever see that in person?
